Bryan grew up in Roanoke, Illinois. He attended Olivet Nazarene University, graduating with degrees in social work and psychology.  After graduation, he attended law school at the University of Illinois.  Bryan practiced law for ten yearsworking in both the federal court system and in public interest law. Having long   felt called to ministry, he then attended seminary and earned his Master of Divinity degree.  He was ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in May of 2016, later serving both as minister of Carlock Christian Church and interim minister at New Covenant Community, a tri-union congregation of the DOC, UCC, and PCUSA. He also completed his residency in clinical pastoral education at Carle BroMenn hospital. It was while serving at New Covenant Community that he decided to transfer his ordination to the PCUSA. He completed that process and was received as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in August of 2023. He has been married to his wife Kathy for 18 years. Kathy works as a hospitalist at St. Joseph’s hospital. They live in Bloomington with their 11-year-old son, Pax.
