DanMUN is an acronym for Danish Model United Nations and is an organization for and by students. The society was formed in March 2006 and currently has about 20 active members, most of them with experience in various Model United Nations or conferences abroad. The members of DanMUN are from different universities of Denmark, having different educational backgrounds, but sharing an interest in the United Nations system, international affairs and foreign policy.We have a close affiliation with the Danish United Nations Association.Our mission and vision
- Our mission is to create a space for international students where knowledge about global politics and international relations is generated and shared.
- Our vision is that students - the world's future decision makers gain an experience that enables them to get more involved in the global issues of today.
Objectives
- To create an environment that will foster an educational and exciting experience in international affairs
- To help participants gain a multicultural view of world affairs and to develop public speaking and debating skills
- To allow all students to engage in conflict resolution and negotiation activities
- To familiarise students with Parliamentary Procedure and other international organizations procedures
- To provide students with an opportunity to learn how the international organizations work, first-hand
- To bring together Students from around the world to share experiences and learn from each other.
The DanMUN Society is an independent, non-profit organization based on voluntary work.
