I am Professor of Statistics at the Federal University of Pernambuco, and I am a former president of the Brazilian Econometric Society. My research interests relate to econometrics, computational statistics and mathematical statistics. My hobbies are traditional wet shaving, street photography, fountain pens, and classical music, my favorite composer being Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). I run Linux on my computers, and I enjoy using free software.
