Dr. John Sherblom

John C. Sherblom teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in communication and technology, persuasion, organizational communication, and research methods at the University of Maine. He currently teaches a course in Second Life® (SL).

His research interests focus on issues of identity, presence, social support, and group decision making processes in SL. He has published numerous research articles and book chapters, and is the author of a textbook on Small Group and Team Communication that is in its fifth edition.

Along with Lesley Withers and Lynnette Leonard, he conducted a SL training workshop at the 2009 meeting of the National Communication Association. An example of his recent collaborative work is:
