Welcome to the website
of Christ Church, Harrogate
Christ Church on the Stray is home to a thriving worshipping community of all ages. We are part of the Anglican (Church of England) tradition, but welcome Christians of all traditions.

We extend a particular welcome to those who are just begining to explore Christian faith and those who are exploring practicing their faith again after many years. On this website you will find a wide range of information about worship, fellowship and learning at Christ Church.

See the Services page for full details of worship here at Christ Church over the coming month.

BUILDING VISION

We are currently taking a look at our church buildings. In particular, there is wide agreement that we need to do something about the porch. The church is now so busy on Sundays and weekdays that the current porch is completely inadequate, and does not serve us well either practically or as a place of welcome and hospitality.

In the near future there will be some ideas and plans for people to look. But it is important that as many people as possible contribute. So please download the questionnaire from the bottom of this page (or pick one up from church), fill it in and return it (either to the parish office or by email to christchurch01@btconnect.com)

FAREWELL TO FATHER JASON
Father Jason Clarke has been chaplain at the Army Foundation College on Penny Pot Lane for the last 18 months, and with his wife Cathy has found a home here at Christ Church when his duties have allowed. His ministry has been really valued and his sermon last Remembrance Sunday made a remarkable impression, literally from the front line.

Jason is now on the move - taking up a new post with 21 Engineers in Ripon and preparing to deploy to Afghanistan later in the year. Our prayers, best wishes and thanks go with him.
