腦造影與神經動態研究室
The Laboratory of Brain Imaging and Neural Dynamics (BIND Lab) in Department of Occupational Therapy and Graduate Institute of Behavioral Sciences, Chang Gung University, Taiwan (Since Sep. 2014), aims at investigating brain functions and structures by using behavioral tasks, neuropsychological tests, and non-invasive brain imaging modalities (e.g., MEG, EEG and MRI) in various populations. As a key member of Healthy Aging Research Center (HARC) in Chang Gung University, I devote to studying the links between brain and behavior in older adults with and without cognitive decline. The research topics include, but not limit to, the identification of imaging signatures that can reflect cognitive decline, the search of imaging markers that can predict disease progression, and the effects of non-pharmacological interventions to older asults with subjective memory complaints or objective cognitive decline (see research grants below). In addition to the aging population, I also study the cognitive neuroscience using event-related potential (ERP) in healthy adults with some kinds of prsonality traits, such as trait anxiety, highly sensitive persons, etc. With the belief that rehabilitation and neuroimaging research need more supports from biochemical evidence, I begin to collaborate with experts from the fields of neurology, physiology and genetics, to examine the dynamic relationship among biochemical markers in the blood, brain structures, brain functions, and behaviors in the aformentioned populations. 腦造影與神經動態研究室 (BIND Lab) 成立於2014年9月。我們實驗室的研究主軸是利用非侵入性腦造影儀器,如腦電圖 (EEG),腦磁圖 (MEG),磁振造影 (MRI) 來探討人類大腦的結構與功能變化。由於本實驗室位在長庚大學醫學院職能治療學系並與健康老化研究中心有任務型合作關係,所以與職能治療相關的族群都是我們研究的對象,目前主要包含健康成人、健康高齡者、認知功能衰退等神經/精神疾患個案。就科學議題而言,本實驗室主要聚焦在大腦如何處理從外界接收的感覺訊息 (知覺歷程) 以及如何根據所獲得的訊息進行反應 (認知展現)。近年來,有感於復健科學與神經影像學需要有更多基礎神經生化學的證據來支持,本實驗室也開始透過與基礎醫學專家合作,來了解上述個案/腦功能/腦結構與血液中重要生化參數的相關性。有別於傳統的臨床復健介入研究,本實驗室的精神是利用神經影像學來 (1) 探討臨床神經及精神疾病腦結構/腦功能異常的神經標誌;(2) 提供臨床介入成效背後腦科學的解釋;(3) 驗證不同介入方法在神經機制上的差異;(4) 以腦影像為出發點找出可以作為介入成效的客觀指標。雖然我們實驗室不以介入型研究為主軸 (但也有一些介入型研究,詳見下方進行中研究計畫),但我們研究的方法與目標對臨床治療有相當重要的貢獻!! 歡迎對腦影像及神經機制研究有興趣的大學部同學及研究生加入我們!

狂賀!! 實驗室成員洪浚哲以第一作者的身分,將碩士論文改寫成期刊文章 "Cingulate white matter mediates the effects of fecal Ruminococcus on neuropsychiatric symptoms in patients with amyloid-positive amnestic mild cognitive impairment" 並發表在SCI期刊 "BMC Geriatrics" (IF = 4.1, Ranking = Q1)。浚哲是長庚大學職能治療研究所碩士班畢業生,他在攻讀碩士班兩年期間,投入大量心力研究阿茲海默氏症病人腸道菌相與大腦白質纖維之間的關係,是一位稱職研究生。這篇原創性研究發現: 處於輕度認知障礙階段的AD患者,其左腦扣帶迴白質的完整性調控腸道菌Ruminococcus與神經精神症狀之間的相關性。浚哲今年申請上阿拉巴馬大學心理學研究所的博士班,祝他在國外求學有更多的收穫! 這邊也要特別感謝高雄長庚神經內科張瓊之主任團隊的協助,提供影生物標記輔助診斷的AD患者及協助糞便檢體的收集,以及長庚大學資工系趙一平老師在DTI資料分析上的協助。

狂賀!! 實驗室碩士班學生洪浚哲以第一作者的身分,發表期刊論文 "阿茲海默光譜之腸道菌叢組態: 系統性回顧及統合分析" 於SCI期刊 "老化" (IF = 5.682)。這是實驗室第一篇跟腸道菌相關的研究,雖然不是original article,卻是很重要的里程碑。浚哲在執行他的碩士論文之餘,願意將過往所回顧的文獻進行整理,執行統合分析,並撰寫成期刊論文,相當難能可饋。這邊也特別感謝日本東北大學聰明老化研究中心Rui Nouchi教授協助資料轉換與分析,以及高雄長庚神經內科張瓊之主任對於文章內容寶貴的建議,才有這樣的成果產出。再次恭喜浚哲!!!

狂賀!! 實驗室成員謝孟恬以第一作者的身分,將學士論文改寫成期刊文章 "Cancellation but not restraint ability is modulated by trait anxiety: An event-related potential and oscillation study using Go-Nogo and stop-signal tasks" 並發表在SCI期刊 "情感障礙期刊" (IF = 4.839)。孟恬是長庚大學生物醫學系學生,在實驗室進行為期兩年的專題研究,表現非常傑出!!! 她先前已經將大三的研究成果 (關於特質焦慮個案對錯誤反應的大腦監控歷程) 整理成科學論文,並發表在SCI期刊"人類神經科學前沿" (IF = 3.169);如今,她將大四的學士論文整理成文章,描述特質焦慮個案對抑制功能的不同面向(即限制 [restraint] 和抵銷 [cancellation]) 有不同程度的影響,也獲得國際SCI期刊的刊登。孟恬目前在台灣大學腦與心智科學研究所就讀碩士班,希望大學時期的研究室扎實的訓練能幫助她在碩士班的學習和研究更得心應手。再次恭喜孟恬!!!

狂賀!! 實驗室成員孫華萱以第一作者的身分,將碩士論文改寫成期刊文章 "主觀記憶抱怨個案呈現異常的自動化抑制功能" 並發表在SCI期刊 "歐洲神經科學雜誌" (IF = 3.115)。華萱目前在八里療養院擔任職能治療師一職,從碩士班畢業後到現在總共快兩年的時間,投稿過程幾經波折,也曾經歷過獲得某期刊修改 (In Revision) 的機會下被拒絕。這一路艱辛的過程,華萱都沒有放棄,依然利用工作閒暇之餘回覆審稿者意見與修改文章,相當難能可貴。再次恭喜華萱!!!

恭喜實驗室的最新一篇文章 "主觀認知衰退個案感覺記憶功能的衰退早於大腦灰質體積的萎縮" 發表在SCI期刊 "心理生理學" (IF = 4.016, Ranking = 15.55%)。這是繼去年發表在Aging期刊後,另一個重要的研究成果。主觀認知衰退這個族群呈現某種程度的特異性,憂鬱/焦慮狀態、酒精成癮、物質濫用等都容易主訴有認知衰退的現象。值得注意的是,主觀認知衰退族群中有一部分比例是有極高的風險會轉變成失憶型行輕度認知障礙/阿茲海默型失智症;如何透過橫斷面 (cross-sectional,而非longitudinal) 的腦影像研究將這一群特別的個案 從健康中高齡長者中標訂出來是我們實驗室這幾年的主要研究方向。我們過去的研究發現,大腦在不需要執行高度注意力的時候 (pre-attentive) 就有能力可以偵測環境刺激的改變;而有能力偵測外界刺激的改變需要仰賴健全的感覺記憶功能。SCD個案在這個能力的展現較健康中高齡者 (且無主訴記憶衰退) 來的差,尤其是在右下額葉及左下頂葉兩個區域。進一步的分析指出,在所有SCD個案中,右下額葉的神經興奮程度越低,其語言記憶、空間記憶的測驗分數也越差。另外,值得一提的是,這個腦功能的改變早於大腦結構的改變,意味著透過功能性影像技術可以偵測出SCD細微的腦功能變化。這邊再次感謝台北榮總王培寧主任及長庚大學趙一平老師莫大的支持與協助。

恭喜實驗室最新的一篇文章 "主觀認知衰退中高齡者對大腦預設網路功能性連結的影響: 腦磁圖研究" 發表在SCI期刊 "老化" (IF = 4.831, Ranking = 13.72%)。這個研究成果是本實驗室一個重要的里程碑,因為主觀認知衰退或主觀記憶抱怨是本實驗室近年來的核心研究課題,也獲得科技部傑出學者養成計畫的經費補助。雖然這個主觀的症狀可能具備其他的異質性,如憂鬱與焦慮情緒狀態等,但我們將這些因素排除後,發現相較於沒有主觀認知衰退的個案,那些主動求診且抱怨認知功能較過去幾年衰退的人呈現大腦功能性連結的顯著不同 (delta及gamma頻帶: 後扣帶迴-外側顳葉,後扣帶迴-楔前葉)。這個結果意味著主觀認知衰退的抱怨會反映在客觀腦功能的改變。這邊非常感謝台北榮總王培寧主任及陽明大學蕭富榮研究員的強大貢獻,讓這三年來的努力有一些不錯的成果!!!

狂賀!! 實驗室畢業生琇涵以第一作者的身分,將碩士論文改寫成期刊文章 "聽覺重複抑制及改變偵測能力兩種神經電生理訊號與認知功能的相關性:老化研究,並發表在SCI期刊 "生物心理學" (IF = 2.627)。琇涵從實驗室畢業後隨即任職於陽光社會福利基金會,擔任職能治療師。這個單位的任務繁重且工作忙碌,卻還能夠利用周末時間寫文章以及跟reviewers奮鬥兩大回合,真的很不容易,再次恭喜琇涵!!!!!

恭喜玫吟的大作獲得SCI期刊 "老化神經科學前沿" (IF = 3.582) 接受!!! 玫吟是本實驗室第一屆畢業生,完成碩士學位後任職於衛福部台中醫院復健科職能治療師,在工作期間利用閒暇之餘將碩士論文改寫成文章 "老化對抑制功能在大腦空間時序的影響:腦磁圖",並以第一作者身分發表,相當難能可貴。這篇文章第一篇由碩士班研究生從無到有所產生的SCI期刊文章,也是實驗室一個重要的里程碑!!!!
