Experimenting with new styles in a new medium

I've been trying some different stylistic approaches with Procreate on the iPad. Though I think my "trying" is less conscious than it sounds. Instead, a model, with his or her individual built and complexion under the particular lighting of the day, sometimes simply feels best rendered one way or the other!

But I also can't deny the influence of the other artists' in the room. In fact, I very consciously try to mimic the styles I admired during breaks, or that I've seen browsing other people's drawings on Flickr. Often, I'm disappointed in my failure, but every now and then, I'm encouraged by the unexpected results!
