What is Yoga props ?
Mr. Iyengar has incorporated the use of props in the yoga practice to help the body attain the correct positions as required.
Yoga props are designed to assist with correct yoga practice and to alignment whilst avoiding strain. The use of props helps to increase one's understanding of yoga asanas and makes yoga practice more accessible to all.
The commonly used props in the Iyengar yoga are chairs, wooden blocks, belts and blankets.
These props help the student to support or adjust oneself in the various postures so that they can move through the entire range of motions in a safe and effective manner.
