The British Polio Fellowship is the largest national charity for people in the UK with Polio and Post Polio Syndrome. 

It has been caring for them since 1939.

2024 is the 85th Anniversary of the Charity. 

It was started on January 29th 1939 and originally called       The Infantile Paralysis Fellowship (IPF) by Patricia Carey and Frederic Morena.

We aim to provide support, help, advice, fellowship and friendship   for all people in the UK living with the effects of polio and Post Polio Syndrome of who there are currently over 120,000.


 Following COVID 19 the British Polio Fellowship is needing even more to help support it's members.

               The Fellowship is divided into Regions and each Region is made up of various Branches and Groups. 

 There are currently nine Regions, over 40 Branches and several active Groups.

The Yorkshire Region is one of those Regions and supports members within it.

2024 will be the regions 70th year.
