Barbara Mikolajewska: Polish born writer, translator, and publisher. Former Adjunct Professor of Sociology long affiliated with the University of Warsaw (Poland), currently co-proprietor (with F.E.J.Linton) of The Lintons’ Video Press (TLVP), author of numerous monographs, editor of several anthologies, translator into Polish of René Girard’s A Theater of Envy: William Shakespeare, and creator of The Live Art Series of book-length photo essays, published by TLVP. Living in Connecticut with her mathematician husband, their adoptive cats, and a growing assortment of computers, printers, and monitors, all with their own unique personalities, she continues to find new uses of the Girardian mimetic theory in the analysis of the scriptural materials of India and Japan.
Current projects include a retelling in Polish of the Mahabharata, a Girardian decoding of the Japanese Kojiki, and compilations of photoreportage focusing on oriental religious practices.
