Research Activities
Dr. Marzocca research efforts focus mainly on aero-thermo-elasticity, fluid-structure interactions, linear/nonlinear structural dynamics, aeroelastic stability and control, unsteady aerodynamics, aerodynamic shaping and morphing concepts, and unmanned-air-vehicles (UAV). Past and on-going collaborations are with scientists and researchers from the following (Country) institutions: (USA) NASA Langley Research Center, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; (SOUTH KOREA) Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Gyeongsang National University, Korea Polytechnic University, and Korea University, (CANADA) The University of Western Ontario, Memorial University of Newfoundland; (ITALY) Polytechnic of Turin, University of Rome “La Sapienza”; (ARMENIA) National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Marzocca is conducting research in a number of modern issues pertaining to the aeroelasticity of flexible flight vehicle systems, and in particular toward the understanding of problems associated with the open/closed-loop nonlinear aeroelastic response, flutter and post-flutter behavior of aircraft vehicles. Success in such research requires the development and integration of a number of disciplines including modern aeroelasticity, structural mechanics, unsteady aerodynamics, feedback control methodologies, advanced composite material structures, and dynamics of multi-body systems.
