Graduation Training QUIZ

THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY PRACTICE tentatively Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 2PM at the Duck!
Please look at the seating alignment below to determine your number.

 

Seniors are encouraged to carpool with family and park at the baseball fields. Handicap parking will be reserved on the field closes to the main home side, east entrance.

 

On the evening of the ceremony, seniors need to arrive at Duck Samford beginning at 6PM. Seniors should enter unto the field from the concessions south side (this is where the band sits for football games). Seniors are to collect their name card. The card will have a number and row information. Signs and teachers will help organize seniors for the processional. Match your seating number to form a line in numerical order in the back of the field. See the seating alignment to have a general idea where you will be on the field to help quickly find your seat as well for guests to know where you will be located.  SEATING ALIGNMENT: LINK (will be changing up until the graduation week)

 

Graduation Ceremony Walk Through:

 7PM - CHIMING OF THE HOUR - all guests are requested to stand

PROCESSIONAL of Stage personnel will occur

Stage Members will enter followed by Senior Class Officers & STUCO Officers.

Seniors will follow teacher escorts to their row. Match your name card number to your seat number.

During processional don't wave at friends, family, etc. Not the time to act a fool--don't embarrass Mom and Dad -- or yourself!

Graduation Ceremony will occur; pay attention to speakers and directions. Playing of the National Anthem, Recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance will occur. Remain standing until told from the stage to sit.

Mr. Rice, Mr. Hames, Mrs. Antoine, and Mr. Frazier will direct you for stage entrance.
***BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR NAME CARD***
Wait until name is called by reader (hand card to the reader) to walk across stage to Dr. Pignato. You will get a picture accepting your diploma. SMILE FOR CAMERA! There will be multiple pictures. Do not make a scene or your diploma/transcripts will be held!

RECESSIONAL to end the ceremony - Seniors Officers will direct Seniors to swap the tassel side after the last graduate walks.

Seniors will then be dismissed to exit the field.
PARENTS AND GUESTS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE FIELD! 

 

 

Graduation Guidelines:
Due to the serious nature of the program, there are certain guidelines that must be adhered to concerning the ceremony

1.  NO GUM!! It will not make for good pictures.
2.  Be careful of excessive use of colognes and perfumes (allergies/sneezing, etc.)
3.  Keys, purses, cameras, etc.--leave at home or keep to a minimum or give to a family member.  A water bottle will be available under your seat.
4. Be consider of other graduates and guests.
5. Do not be inappropriate when traversing the stage for your moment.


Dress Code:
Only approved AHS regalia is permitted. Only AHS supplied cords may be worn. (NHS, Tech HS, Foreign Language, Debate, Mass Media, etc.)
Mortar Boards and Regalia are to not be decorated!


Males:
preferably church type / semi dressy dark or khaki pants with belts or suspenders
preferably white/blue shirts and ties (many choose to wear school colors)
preferably dark shoes and socks
*NO FLIP FLOPS*
caps, gowns, tassels, and cords

Females:
preferably church-type/semi-dressy clothing under gowns or nice slacks
shoes that can be worn to traverse ramps and stairs NO spiked or stiletto heels due to the turf. If ladies wear a heel, please wear a block or platform heel. Be very mindful of shoe choice because the turf is very unforgiving for heels. Nice flats are recommended.

keep bangling/clanky/heavy jewelry/earrings to a minimum for good pictures
caps, gowns, tassels, and cords

Parents WILL NOT be allowed to enter the graduates' area for pictures. This includes the line up and access to the field.

Actual Diplomas:
Seniors (or Parents) are asked to pick up the actual diplomas from the counseling suite the Tuesday after graduation. Any outstanding books, fees, etc…, will have to be cleared prior to the diploma being issued.
