About Me

Hello!   My name is Jo and I am a twenty year veteran teacher who is currently the Media Specialist in a K-5 school in Moreland, Georgia.  I am married and have two wonderful sons. They are the loves of my life.  I am certified in K-8, with an emphasis in Elementary Education. I also have a Gifted endorsement for K-8 and a Masters in Media.  I am also the West Georgia region chair for GLMA, our state's library association.

In my twenty plus years of educating students, I have taught in a Kindergarten, first grade and fifth grade regular education classroom, in a computer lab setting, and now in a Media Center. The best part of my job is getting to know and interact with every student in my school year after year.  It is truly a joy to watch them grow and change during their elementary years.

Part of my former job as an Instructional Technology teacher was to keep up with the newest trends in technology so that I could pass that information on to the teachers and students at my school.  And it occurred to me that other educators might be interested in learning something new as well, and so I began this website.  With the help of other's blogs and websites, I have been able to learn about some really terrific free tools.  (Please see My PLN page for more information.)  It is my hope that you will find something to inspire you to use technology in a new and exciting way in your classroom and that you will enjoy your time here.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments that you may have.  I look forward to hearing from you soon.  =)
