Research themes

The major focus of the study group has been to look into the accessibility issues to public services and infrastructure such as public health, parks and open spaces, while emphasizing the need of upholding urban quality of life through improvised habitat planning. Urban and related policies are analysed to look into the mitigation strategies. For example, MIG housing needs in the Metropolitan cities of India, the role of social entrepreneurs towards reducing the access gap in public health while focusing on affordability and availability.

Upcoming technologies and easy availability of mobile phones and ICT devices might play a crucial role towards reduction of social exclusion. We encourage application of state of art techniques and devising new methodology to solve pressing urban problems related to housing, application of ICT, accessibility to public services and assessment of urban scapes.
