Competitor’s situation (Fuel Cell)

1) With ~ 160% improvements in efficiency and 100% improvement in power over reciprocating engine (due to constant volume heat addition (50%), higher expansion ratio (30%) and internal cooling by water injection (80%)). Thus having 78% actual efficiency this engine can directly compete with fuel cell.

2) Cost of the concept engine will be very less compared to fuel cell.

3) Capability of constant volume heat addition and separate exhaust and intake chamber makes it suitable for hydrogen fuel. Use of hydrogen as fuel assures zero emission.

Competitor’s situation (Electric Motor)

1) With ~ 160% improvements in efficiency and 100% improvement in power over reciprocating engine (due to constant volume heat addition (50%), higher expansion ratio (30%) and internal cooling by water injection (80%)). Thus having 78% actual efficiency this engine can directly compete with electric motor.

2) With High initial torque by changing rotor profile (2-3 times more initial torque at every power stroke) concept engine has the advantage of electric motor and with high power density it has the advantage of IC engine.

3) Capability of constant volume heat addition and separate exhaust and intake chamber makes it suitable for hydrogen fuel. Use of hydrogen as fuel assures zero emission.
