About Me

I am currently a third year graduate student at the Climate Research Division at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego in the research group advised by Prof. Art Miller and Prof. Bruce Cornuelle. My current research is focused on assimilation of ship cruise and satellite observed data into a regional eddy-permitting ocean model of the South East Pacific. I also am researching into nonlinear data assimilation techniques to improve upon the Ensemble Kalman Filter and Adjoint based methods in data assimilation into nonlinear models. I work and gain advice from Prof. Ibrahim Hoteit also for this research. My other main focus in research is in gaining a better understanding of the forcing parameters on the intraseasonal oscillations in the Asian Summer Monsoon. I also closely work with Prof. Raghu Murtugudde, Dr. Markus Jochum and Dr. Hyodae Seo

I previously obtained M.Sc. (Engg.) from Centre for Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences in 2006 and B.Tech from Department of Ocean Engineering at IIT Madras in 2004.
