With the musical compositions of Andrea Basevi for string quartet inspired by the images of Tullio Pericoli listenable via QR code

Tullio Pericoli read and annotated in the margin this great text, a true 'generator of images' that breathe the same peace and spirit of the simple shepherd Elzéard Bouffier. This book is the evolution of his creative path, which over the years has made the vision of his work essential and definitive.

IL MIO CANTO MI TRASFORMA: Polifonie per voci pari o bianche

da Andrea Basevi

Collected here are polyphonic songs for equal or treble voices written over a period of about ten years.

The verses set to music are from poets I love and frequent. I added a Lullaby with texts in Genoese and Roman dialect and a sacred Jewish song Listen to Israel.

Some songs are a cappella, others require the piano and one My singing transforms me is small percussion or simply the clapping of the hands.

I tried to put the songs in order of increasing difficulty and number of voices, but I don't know if I did it right, each Director will know very well how to choose the right song to study by following his instinct and knowing the level of his own Choir.

Totò Sapore, a "gastronomic and philosophical fable" as the author defines it, is set in a historical period summarily determined "at the time of the Bourbons". His world is actually that of the imaginary: the story develops between Kings, Queens, Nobles, Commoners, who do not have a realistic dimension. All the characters, with the exception of the protagonist (who contains, albeit light, elements of "dramatic" tension), are fantastic and undefined figures: yet all are greedy, quarrelsome, generous, in short human, not at all abstract or distant. Line after line the comedy proposes an imaginary world that is both tender and affectionate through a language that generates images upon images, substantiates them, contrasts them. The gentle poetic game colors the figures of the story, outlining their silhouettes. The world of the court and the world of the people are the two opposing themes that grow and define themselves little by little, outlined by the jokes. The plot is fast-paced, the changes in the action develop at a gripping pace. The narrator acts as an intermediary between scene and scene as a bridge between the story and the theatrical representation.

Il soldatino di stagno di Hans Christian Andersen. Spartito canto e pianoforte

da Patrizia Ercole, Andrea Basevi, Alice Barbieri

Reduction for voice and piano. Through an original rereading of a great classic by Andersen, a new musical fairy tale is presented to the public of young readers, in which each character is associated with a musical theme and an instrument. Andrea Basevi's music faithfully follows the unfolding of the action, creating magical moments such as the love between the toy soldier and the ballerina or the dangerous journey of the toy soldier on the paper boat. "The Tin Soldier" is a musical fairy tale, born from the beautiful idea of Prokofiev who in "Peter and the Wolf" associates character with instrument and musical theme. In the fairy tale, each character has a theme which changes, is varied and is subjected to contrapuntal games as the action unfolds. The music faithfully follows the unfolding of the action, creating magical moments such as the love between the toy soldier and the ballerina, where their themes intertwine, and dramatic moments such as the perilous journey of the toy soldier on the paper boat. Compared to Andersen's fairy tale, the author of the text Patrizia Ercole made minimal but important variations.

8 Madrigali su poesie di Roberto Piumini a quattro voci (2017)

https://bmmedizionimusicali.weebly.com/contemporanea.html

The seven Madrigals and one Canzonetta on poems by Roberto Piumini contain within them many musical worlds. I turn to the divine father Claudio to understand how music is the servant of the word, to maestro Bettinelli who takes me by the hand to cross the choral worlds. Piumini's poetry is already music, and I humbly tried to represent the rhetorical figures and images that poetry arouses as in a mental theater, because the madrigal is a small theater with its affections, trepidations and calm responses. If music has connections with architecture, here are the many rooms of a palace of sound, and if it is linked with cuisine then here is a good minestrone or an excellent salad.
