For my Ph.D., I am working on human decision-making, particularly formation, mental representation, reversals of preferences, and the role of attention in the phenomena in domains including and beyond consumer choice. I use behavioral experiments and Bayesian modeling approaches to decipher the cognitive mechanisms involved in decision-making. I spend my leisure time reading Indian philosophy.

I have done my B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad campus, and my MSc. in Cognitive Science from CBCS, Allahabad. For my PhD, I am studying temporal organisation of perceptual content over brief durations (best described as the psychological "now"). Besides this, I am a Carnatic music student, an avid trekker, and indulge occasionally in some poetry.

I have a BSc in Botany from Scottish Church College, Kolkata, a MSc in Plant Biotechnology from University of Hyderabad followed by a change of heart which led me straight to Cognitive Science. For my PhD thesis I am interested in looking at felt emotions, feeling generation, and metacognition of feelings. When not in lab you will find me either watching a movie or reading feminist blogposts or looking for good angles to click photos of plants, insects and anything and everything to be honest.

I switched to cognitive science after doing a Dual Degree in Clinical Psychology because it offered more breadth. I am currently interested in affective cognition, sociology of knowledge, and Interoception. In the after-hours, I love serendipitously finding off-beat brands and I am also a volunteer with the animal welfare group on our campus.

I had done a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur and then worked in Data Science/Machine Learning for three years. Dissatisfied with the industry in general and to pursue a longstanding interest in the mind and the self, I joined the masters program in Cognitive Science here at IITK and thereafter converted to PhD to work on Causality. I am interested in studying how we perceive casual structures in the world and reason about them, how we represent those structures in the mind, and finally, where do we as causing agents in the world fit in with all this.
