Short Bio:

I am a Bioinformatics Engineer working at the Biometric Research Program (Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis of NCI) under the supervision of Dr. McShane and Dr. Yingdong Zhao. My research involves developing and maintaining web applications for use of next-generation sequencing data in oncology clinical trials.

Previously I was a Post-Doc researcher working at Virginia Tech, under the supervision of Dr. Tyson (Biological Sciences Dept.) and Dr. Shaffer (Computer Science Dept.). My research work involved developing algorithms and software to support the design and simulation of models describing the Budding Yeast Cell Cycle and other models with similar characteristics.

I obtained my PhD in Computational Systems Biology at CoSBi, supervised by Prof. Corado Prami.

My publications can be found in the "Publications and Talks" page.

I attended the University of Trento, where I obtained a Bachelor's degree (2005) and a Master's degree (2007) in Computer Science. My thesis, “Formal models of examples of biological synthesis and signal transduction pathways” focused on building models of real biological systems using Beta-binders formalism and some specific extensions. In 2004 I worked at ITC-irst (Center for Scientific and Technological Research) of Trento. The main goal of my work was the analysis of service-oriented architectures for the development of software able to manage the automation of domotic devices.
