PROJECT 3
Next Generation Wheel:
There is an imminent need to design a propulsion system that overcomes all the drawback of previous generation locomotion systems used in cars. IC engines need to be replaced by power efficient electrical systems to curb the pollution and inefficiency. These systems can be made more efficient by reducing the number of moving parts and by using advanced control mechanism to use optimum power to drive a system. The Next Generation Wheel (NGW) contains only one moving part and gear, transmission and power dissipating elements have been removed. The control system determines the optimum power input to the wheel depending on various inputs like acceleration, speed and torque required. With the aim to become successor to IC engine and to provide a cleaner and better environment to our future generation this project can definitely bring in the required change.
