Roy G. Snyder Natatorium

POOL AND TEAM RECORDS

The natatorium opened its doors in January of 1966 as the first aquatic facility in a Berks County school. In June 2014, the facility (pictured above) finished a major renovation project that turned the original six lane shallow/deep pool into a ten lane by ten lane facility that offers an all deep competition area as well as shallow water. The facility is still rightfully named after one of the strongest high school swimming coaches in the state of Pennsylvania, Roy Snyder, who lead the Wilson Bulldogs to four state championships, 15 district championships, 28 league championships and 15 individual event state champions.

Coach Snyder, who served as a teacher in the Physical Education Department and as the Wilson High School Athletic Director, implemented the aquatics program in the Wilson School District and it quickly became one of the best models across the state and nation. To this day, we pride ourselves on offering one of the most comprehensive aquatic programs in Pennsylvania, with state championship level swimming, diving and water polo.
