Final Project Proposal
Project Ideation
1- Tell us about the purpose of your project. Which problem does it solve? Why do you care about this? What were you inspired by? Include images and videos of similar projects
Dancing Robot
it is a robot that can walk and dance and it has a ultrasonic sensor to avoid obstacles, a buzzer and its controlled by Bluetooth module.
2- Describe the project idea and general features. How would it work?
it is a walking and dancing robot it is controlled by bluetooth module, it contain 4 servo motors which are the responsible for its movement, each leg need two of them, one for the foot and the other for the leg itself and by making the two moves together the leg can move forwards or backwards, it contains an ultrasonic sensor as well placed in the head as an eyes to avoid obstacles and then there is the body which will contain all the other components and the battery and 2 hands and legs which will be the moving parts and probably all these parts will be 3d printed.
3- Sketch your project: You may use pen and paper or a simple sketching tool like Microsoft Paint or Photoshop
it will be a ninja robot with black body and red head band and belt
The Body parts:
1st. two black pla feet with wide base connected to the first two servo motors shafts to rotate the feet around y axis.
2nd. Two legs whose bases are connected to the feet motors and its top parts are connected to the 2nd two motor shafts to rotate the legs around z axis.
3rd. the body which contains all the components in it, the battery, Arduino , leg motors and all the jumper wires and the other sub-main components, my idea till now is that the body will be fabricated in two parts ether sliced vertically to be two similar parts the front and the back the difference will be the connecting parts only, or it will be sliced horizontally to an upper and lower part one with the components fixed to it and the other is just a cover and maybe the red belt will cover the distance in-between.
4th. two hand which are freely moved around their axis (maybe we can control them with servo motors too but this could be too much motors in the project).
5th. the head which will contain the ultrasonic sensor "or maybe a small screen to show his reactions" it will be two parts as will, a base and a cover and mostly there will be a place for the sensor to slide into it, and that's it.
Project Planning
4- Describe the Technical Modules that your project consists of
Construction Parts
the body which hold all the components together, the head and the hands (laser-cutted 3mm ply wood)
the legs and the feet (3d printed).
Input
(Sensing, Tactile Input, and/or Graphical Input)
Bluetooth module (serial data sent through mobile GUI)
Action
(Physical and/or Graphic)
it has 4 servo motors each of them control the movement of a body part all these moves together make the robot walks
rotary motion (servo motor)
OLED
Brain
Arduino Nano
Power Management
5v battery
5- Create a cardboard prototype of your project, demonstrating the project face as well as internal movements and mechanisms. Include a demo video and photos of the prototype.
card board model with the actual needed dimension
card board model with the actual dim after adding the head with the OLED
6- Categorize your project’s User Features into: Minimum, Complete, and Nice-to-have features. List the required action and input components per feature.
Minimum Features: are the least amount of features that would demonstrate the coverage of all the technical modules and their complete integration
Complete Features: are the set of features that will complete your original project objective and vision
Nice-to-have Features: are the extra set of features that will make the project cooler, yet they need extra time, effort, and/or resources to finish
Minimum User Features
Example: the robot dance and moves by Bluetooth signal
Action: -4servo motors
User Input: -Bluetooth module
Complete User Features
Example: the robot can move and dance with Oled for facial expressions
Action: -4servo motors.
-Oled.
User Input: -Bluetooth module.
Nice-to-have User Features
Example: the robot can move ofrward and backward and dance with Oled for facial expressions
Action: -4servo motors.
-Oled.
User Input: -Bluetooth module.
