Mrs. Hanten

My name is Megan Hanten, and I have been working in Red Wing's schools since January 2015. I currently have my license to teach EL students and students with emotional and behavioral disorders in grades K-12. I also have my license to be a work-based learning coordinator for grades 9-12.

I am a wife to an amazing husband and mother to two daughters. My family lives in Western Wisconsin. We have a dog and two cats. At one time, we had quite a large flock of chickens. Someday we might raise chickens again. When I am not teaching or doing homework, I enjoy reading, watching movies, cooking, and talking walks with my family. I also enjoy painting wooden toys for my girls to play with. In the coming years, I would like to learn how to cut wood to make the toys I paint.

My favorite part about being a teacher is the connections I make with students and their families. I have been blessed and challenged by the students I work with. They have made me a better teacher and a better person. I have learned things beyond my wildest imagination and formed bonds that I know will last a lifetime.
