Sport

Queen Charlotte College has a heritage of sporting achievement that much larger schools envy. Our school continues to produce national titleholders and New Zealand representatives.

The Picton and Marlborough environment is difficult to surpass as an environment in which to enjoy a variety of sports and Queen Charlotte College prides itself on the number and diversity of sporting opportunities we can support. Our students enjoy sporting success because the College and its local community are passionate about sport and have a wealth of individuals and clubs that support the student’s sporting endeavours.

Our aim is to provide quality sporting opportunities for all students. Queen Charlotte College has established sporting exchanges with other schools and participates in regional and national tournaments.

Inter House Sports

The College has strong Whānau commitment; the House structure and inter-house sporting competitions provide opportunities for leadership among our senior school and facilitate the inclusion of new and young students to our community.

Swimming, Athletics, Cross Country and Tabloid sports are the core activities and lunchtime interhouse sports activities are common.

The College has a Sports Co-ordinator funded as part of the schools commitment to the SPARC Sports Fit programme and is tasked with setting and achieving participation and performance targets each year.
