Professional coaching
All sailors must wear a US Coast Guard approved life-jacket
Safety boat is present for all sessions
Classes will be run out of both venues: PY-Westpoint and PY-Chesapeake.
Cancellation Policy: A processing fee of $50 will be applied to any cancellations. No refunds within 2 weeks of class start date.

Guppies (*new this summer!)
This is a fun camp for those that are not quite old enough for our learn-to-sail class, but would like to get in a boat and see what it is all about! Time will be spent both on land, and on the water learning basic sailing info and increasing kid's comfort level on boats. Class will be taught in 18' keelboats. Although no experience is necessary, sailors must be comfortable in the water while wearing a life jacket. Camp is Mon-Thur 9am-Noon. Ages 6-7. $300 per camp.

Learn-to-Sail
This is a fun, in-depth camp that teaches the basics of sailing. Time will be spent both on land, and on the water learning wind direction, boat nomenclature, knots, and basic sailing techniques. Although no experience is necessary, sailors must be comfortable in the water while wearing a life jacket. Camp is Mon-Thur 9am-3:30pm. Ages 8-11. $1,000 per camp.

*Some kids pick up the sport quickly, while others may repeat learn-to-sail multiple times before advancing. Your instructors will update you on the sailor's progress towards the end of the course. This class does not compete in regattas.*
Learn 2.0
This is a fun, in-depth camp that continues instruction of the basics of sailing. Time will be spent both on land, and on the water learning wind direction, boat nomenclature, knots, and basic sailing techniques. Sailors must have completed Learn-to-Sail (or equivalent). Camp is Mon-Thur 9am-4pm. Ages 8-11. $500 per camp.

Intro-to-Race
For sailors with less than a year sailing in Cubes/Optimists (or equivalent), who understand the basics of sailing and want an introduction to racing skills. This class is for the sailor who has completed learn-to-sail but needs a refresher on proper boathandling and an introduction to the basics of racing. Boats provided (Cubes). Camp is Mon-Thur 9am-4pm. Ages 8-12. Cost: $500

Opti Green Team
For sailors who have completed Opti Intro-to-Race or equivalent and seek to refine their racing skills in a single handed boat. Sailors will work on opti specific body mechanics as well as introduce rig set up. Boats provided (Optis). Camp is Mon-Thur 9am-4pm. Ages 8-12. Cost: $500

Opti Development Team
For sailors who have graduated from our Opti Green Team or equivalent and seek to refine their racing and boat tuning skills in a single handed boat. Sailors could be racing in either Green or Champ fleet while on the Development Team. Coaches will determine what is appropriate for the sailor. Boat ownership is suggested but not mandatory. Camp is Mon-Thur 9am-4pm. Ages 8-13. Cost: $500

FJ Intro Camp
Learn the basics of sailing while developing skills to prepare for sailing with others at PYSF and in the Bay Area. While no experience is necessary, sailors must be comfortable in the water while wearing a life jacket. This class serves as an introduction to double-handed sailing and Fleet Racing. Class Sessions are divided by age (11-13yo and 14yo+). This class precedes FJ Team Racing and 420 Intro. Boats provided. Camp is Mon-Thur 9am-4pm. Keelboat Intro Camp
Learn the basics of sailing a keelboat! This class serves as an introduction to keelboat sailing using Ideal 18s. Sailors will be learning basic maneuvering on a keelboat, including spinnakers. Boats provided. Ages 12+. Camp is Mon-Thur 9am-3pm. 420 Intro Camp
Sailors who have completed FJ Intro, 420/Laser Summer Course, or equivalent. Looking to learn trapeze work, spinnaker handling, skippering and crewing. No partner needed. Sailor needs to be confident in skippering and understand basic sailing concepts and maneuvers. Boats provided. Answers to FAQ can be found here. Ages: 12-18. This class precedes invitation to the 420 Race Team. Camp is Mon-Thur 9am-4pm. Cost: $650.
