In the mid 1900s, segregation in the United States was a big problem in society. Black people were not treated the same way as white people. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the biggest difference makers in U.S. history. He helped to end this huge conflict, and for everyone to have equal rights. Shortly after, the Civil Rights Act was passed. This has changed the course of U.S. history as all people are now treated equally.
