Welcome to the Dreams of Learning Project Faculty Page!

What do college and university professors want most for their students to learn? This project aims to discover and disseminate what professors dream of their students learning, what they want most for them to learn.

I have done a lot of assessment work, encouraging my academic colleagues to design measurable learning goals, to measure student learning, and to improve their teaching based on that evidence. However, I'm also a research psychologist, and from that I know that there are human capacities and characteristics that are extremely hard to measure. As a college professor, I believe that the main goal of going to college is to open your eyes to new ways of thinking, while you also pick up new skills and knowledge.

There's a survey for college and university professors so that I can learn what professors hope for their students to gain from a college education. Over time, I'll update this site with results. In the meantime, if you are a college or university professor, please take the faculty survey; if you are not but you know a professor, ask them to survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/D_of_Lrn!

Thanks for visiting and reading.
