It is constructive time out to travel in-between life stages. It usually means travelling, volunteering or working abroad. Often it means all three!

Service Year Option/Maryland Corps - these programs provide 18 years old and older with an invaluable opportunity to determine the best next steps in their work or educational journey through a year of paid, full-time service; participants will earn at least $15 an hour, help accessing wrap-around services, and extensive professional development opportunities; additionally, after completion of the term of service, participants will receive $6,000 that can be put into a Maryland 529 account or a cash stipend.
