Re-elect Matt Allard for City Councillor | St. Boniface Ward
PROVEN LEADERSHIP: DELIVERING RESULTS
Through dedicated advocacy, we have secured substantial, tangible investments for the St. Boniface Ward:
Recreation and Municipal Facilities: Directed over $10 million toward the comprehensive renewal of the Boni-Vital Pool, and successfully secured $2.496 million in approved and projected funding within the 2026 Budget for the development of a new aquatic facility in St. Boniface and completed the new splashpad for Norwood East at the Champlain Community Centre.
Heritage Preservation: Negotiated a $300,000 increase in the 2024 operating grant for the St. Boniface Museum to execute essential structural upgrades to the facility's roof.
Infrastructure Development: Significantly reduced the local and regional road infrastructure deficit over the past decade, advanced the construction of the Taché Promenade Belvedere, and facilitated the completion of the Windsor Park Fire Paramedic Station.
Policy Reform and Social Investment: Championed the initiative for free transit for kids 11 and under and allocated critical funding for homelessness outreach organisations.
STRATEGIC PRIORITIES FOR A FOURTH TERM: CONTINUING THE WORK
ROADS
Residents rightfully expect reliable roads and safe pedestrian pathways. Our fiscal strategy must pivot from expanding road liabilities toward the rigorous repair and maintenance of our existing neighborhood infrastructure.
SAFETY
Comprehensive community safety requires proactive measures. I will continue to address the systemic causes of property crime by reducing barriers to affordable housing, streamlining partnerships for social housing, and supporting direct outreach for homelessness and addictions. Furthermore, I will advocate for modern road engineering and traffic calming initiatives to enhance the safety of our residential streets.
HOUSING
It is imperative to balance neighborhood preservation with sustainable growth. I will champion progressive land-use planning that reduces bureaucratic inefficiencies, facilitating the construction of diverse and attainable housing options for residents of all generations.
RECREATION AND LIBRARIES
Vibrant, accessible community spaces are fundamental to the well-being and connection of our families. I will advocate for more funding for pools and for sustained investments in our local libraries, ensuring they have the resources to thrive as modern, inclusive hubs for lifelong learning, technology access, and neighborhood gathering.
Experienced leadership is essential for continued progress. I respectfully ask for your continued support.
