The English teachers at Southside High want you to read something fun, exciting, impactful, meaningful, or enjoyable this summer. This is why we encourage you to read one or more of the books that are a part of the Louisiana Teen Readers' Choice Program. Each book on the list has been identified as being an outstanding book for teens to read for pleasure. 

You can view the Louisiana Teen Reader's Choice Award list of book titles for the 2023-2024 school year below.  Don't see anything on the list that interests you? Pick something else! It doesn't really matter what you read, as long as you are reading. 

We challenge you to read as much as you can this summer. (Pssssst!  This is your time to read JUST FOR FUN!  You will NOT have an assignment to complete for Summer Reading! Summer reading is encouraged but optional if you are in English I, II, III, or IV.)
