SEL Curricula

In Focus helps your student
develop social and emotional intelligence, critical to success in school and beyond. These books provide 10-15 minute daily lessons focusing on safety (the brain stem), emotion and motivation (the limbic system), and thinking (the cortex).
Check out an overview of the concepts here, or mini-lessons here.

Second Step programs combine discussions with fun activities and family resources. The programs help children learn social-emotional skills such as responsible decision-making, working together to solve problems, managing strong emotions, and getting along with others. These skills can help children succeed academically and socially.

CASEL’s mission is to help make evidence-based social and emotional learning (SEL) an integral part of education from preschool through high school.

SEL is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.
