Over the years from 2004–2005, our doctor earned "Resident of the Year" in physical medicine and rehabilitation from LSU's Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. About the Doctor
About the Doctor
He trained under the tutelage of world-renowned spine interventionalist Dr. Charles Aprill. Dr. Babigumira is an active member of the International Spine Intervention Society and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
His main interest is in prosthetics, orthotics, amputee care, musculoskeletal, spine, chronic medical, and neuromuscular disorders, as well as interventional pain management. He performs a variety of fluoroscopically guided spinal procedures, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar epidural steroid injections, as well as sympathetic blocks, facet injections, radiofrequency ablation, provocative discography, nucleoplasty, and dorsal column stimulation. He also performs peripheral joint injections that include sacroiliac, knee, hip joint injections, and myofascial trigger point injections with BOTOX®. And BOTOX® injections for chronic migraines.
Dr. Babigumira also has an interest in electrodiagnostic medicine, electromyography, and nerve conduction studies to help diagnose and treat a broad range of neuromuscular disorders, including carpal tunnel syndrome, peripheral neuropathy, ulnar neuropathy, and lumbar radiculopathy.
Dr. Babigumira believes strongly in not only diagnosing underlying ailments in patients with acute and chronic pain, but also treating them ethically with the utmost compassion and dignity. When he's not helping people with their medical problems, Dr. Babigumira enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, as well as golfing, fishing, playing tennis, watching movies, and reading history books.

Dr. Jeff Weishaar is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Illinois in good standing. Health psychology is Dr. Weishaar’s area of clinical expertise. He is owner and president of Compass Behavioral Health in Rockford, IL and the Chief Rehabilitation Psychologist at Van Matre Rehabilitation Hospital in Rockford, IL. Dr. Weishaar’s past research focused on how psycho-social factors contribute to outcomes in bariatric surgery and he also counseled individuals and families pre and post bariatric surgery.
