Meet the Librarian:  Ms. Deb Cook

Ms. Cook has been the librarian at The Academies at Jonesboro High School since 2015.  Before becoming the librarian, Ms. Cook served as the district's literacy specialist.  As an educator, Ms. Cook has taught elementary, middle school/jr. high, high school, as well as, college.  What she enjoys most about education is the interaction between teachers and students as they learn from each other.  

Growing up in Randolph County, Ms. Cook graduated from Pocahontas High School before attending Arkansas State University (ASU) earning a BSE in Education.  The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) offered Ms. Cook the opportunity to earn her MS in Library Media/Information Technologies and Harding University (HU) is where she obtained her Reading Specialist Certification.  

When not at work, Ms. Cook enjoys gardening, reading, playing games, and spending time with family and friends.  She is active in her church community and enjoys working the the youth group.  While Ms. Cook enjoys traveling and has traveled much of the United States, she relates well to Dorthy from the Wizard of Oz in the belief that, "There is no place like home."
