Bat Research: Illinois

Projects in the lab focussed on local bat populations in West-Central Illinois include examining the effects of a prescribed burning program at Siloam Springs State Park on bat activity, examining the potential of assessing stress on bat populations using hormone metabolites in guano (bat droppings), and assisting the IDNR with updating endangered and threatened species records on protected lands.

Northern Myotis (Myotis septentrionalis) - a species designated as threatened by the USFWS due to White Nose Syndrome
