The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) recognizes the need for introducing AI into pre-university education to cultivate the competitiveness of Hong Kong's young generation. The AI subject is traditionally under the disciplines of science and engineering at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The challenge is to design an AI curriculum that is accessible to secondary students with diverse interests.

Form 1 students learnt and applied STEM knowledge to construct and test solar cars by themselves. (Organised by the Science Department)
Students were introduced to the basic concepts in forensic science, e.g. fingerprint and anatomy. Students then applied the knowledge to analyse different information of suspects and to solve a case of murder. (Organised by the Science Department)

Instructor introduces the concepts of controlling a drone. How to fly a fly? How to programming a drone with basic instructions. Then the students learn how to drive a drone to prevent hitting obstacles and also how to fly many drones together (ie. Drone dance). The students use their own iPad and two apps will be used (Tello and Tello Edu). Tello is to drive a drone and Tello Edu is used to program a drone.
