GRREC ED Culminating Leadership Project Options

Successful completion of the Leadership Project is a requirement for recommendation for Rank change. GRREC ED has provided options to fit the unique professional needs of educators with varying interests and needs. Participants will select from the Leadership Project options below the one that will help them achieve their individual professional goals.

Internship Leadership Capstone

Curriculum Development Capstone

Participants will identify a school or district mentor and with input from the mentor design an internship project that addresses a need (a professional learning need and/or a school or district need). This project will include the purpose or goals of the internship, the importance of the internship, connections to applicable standards (KTPS, CEC, NBPTS, etc.), research backing, a journal of activities, and a reflection section with conclusions and recommendations for next steps.

Participants will identify a district, school, or classroom need and develop curricular resources, processes, or strategies to address that need. This project will include a description/evidence of the need being addressed, the importance of the development of the educational resources, and the goals. It will also include connections to applicable standards (KTPS, CEC, NBPTS, etc.), research backing, implementation procedures, artifacts, results, and a reflection section with conclusions and recommendations for next steps.

Field Project Leadership Capstone

Thesis Leadership Capstone

Participants will identify a district, school, or classroom educational issue and design a field project to address the issue. This project will include a description/evidence of the issue being addressed, the importance of addressing the issue, and the goals of the project. It will also include connections to applicable standards (KTPS, CEC, NBPTS, etc.), research backing, implementation procedures, artifacts, results, and a reflection section with conclusions and recommendations for next steps.

Field Project Leadership Capstone Project Template

Participants will identify a district, school, or classroom educational need and design a formal research project to address that need. This project will include research questions, definitions of terms, research design and procedures, population and sample, and data analysis process. It will also include connections to applicable standards (KTPS, CEC, NBPTS, etc.), research backing, artifacts, and a reflection section with conclusions and recommendations for next steps.

Thesis Leadership Capstone Project Template

All leadership capstone projects will be assessed by a committee of three: a district/school representative, a university representative, and a GRREC professional learning representative. The GRREC Capstone Scoring Rubric will be used to determine successful completion of the project.
