ABOUT ME

My name is Bill O'Meara and this is my 3rd year at  Southside High.  I am very excited to be here this year.  I have taught in Greenville County Schools for almost 20 years, and before coming to Southside, I was at Wade Hampton High School for 9 years. I am loving the challenge Southside has provided for me, and I look forward to many years to come at SHS.  Before teaching high school, I taught at the elementary level at Duncan Chapel Elementary, and Monaview Elementary.  I also look forward to the challenge of the inclusion model again this year.  I am excited to get into classrooms and serve students the best way I know how!  Teaching math is my favorite subject and I love the growth I see in co taught classes.  This first semester I am teaching all inclusion Algebra classes.  

When I am not teaching, the rest of my time is spent with my three children, and my  wife Erin, who teaches Chemistry and Physics at Fountain Inn High School.  My oldest child Alyssa (13) is adopted.  My youngest son is named Liam and is currently 10 years old.  Aishling is my youngest daughter and she turns one on August 5th! My house is very crazy and busy, but I would not trade it for the world.  My other passion besides my children is running and martial arts. I earned a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu blue belt at Alliance here in Greenville, and I have earned a second degree black belt in Nihon Goshin Aikido. My personal goal this year is to get back into running shape and complete a half marathon!
