Meet Mrs. Wimmer 22-23.pdf

Hello and Welcome! Let me share a little about myself...I am originally from Newfoundland, Canada. I attended the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick, where I attained my degrees in Bachelor of Arts, Major in English and a Bachelor of Elementary Education, Concentration in Special Education. I have also completed an ESOL Certification through Clemson University.

In the Spring of 2000, I came to the United States with a Recruiting Company who placed me in Beaufort, SC at St. Helena Elementary, where I taught in a Learning Disabled Self Contained Class (3rd, 4th & 5th). In August of that same year, I moved to Greenville, where I have been ever since. I taught a Self Contained EMD 3rd, 4th & 5th grade my first year here and then I taught 1st grade for two years. I then taught in Anderson District One for ten years. While there, I taught in a Learning Disabled Self Contained Classroom (K-2nd) for six years and I taught 2nd grade for four years. This is my ninth year at Monarch, I taught 3rd grade for three years and this is my sixth year teaching 2nd grade. I truly love working with children and having a key role in their growth and development.

On a personal note, I met my husband, Roland (who is from Austria), here in Greenville. We have a beautiful daughter, Sophie, who is 15 years old and is in 10th grade at JL Mann High School and  our sweet little Shi-Chi named Coco. In my free time, I love to travel (usually to Canada & Austria/Europe) to visit our families, but I also enjoy traveling within the States as well. I love to bake and collect recipes, and always up for trying new foods and restaurants. I enjoy most types of music and love to take in a live concert any chance I get. I love to be active, biking the Swamp Rabbit Trail or around town, walking, hiking, paddleboarding, working out, and often participate in 5K's and I have participated in the Cooper River Run 10k for six years. Most of all, I love to spend time with my friends and family.
