Hello, Riverside Middle School families! It's a pleasure to be part of this wonderful community. Allow me to share a snapshot of my educational journey:

🍎 Years of Dedication: With a total of 18 enriching years within the Greenville County School district, I bring a wealth of experience to Riverside Middle School. My journey includes 7 impactful years at Fisher Middle School and an additional 9 years as an English Language Arts (ELA) teacher at Southside High School.

πŸ“š Passionate ELA Teacher: ELA isn't just a subject to me; it's a gateway to understanding, expression, and imagination. I'm enthusiastic about guiding students through the intricacies of language and literature, fostering a love for learning.

🌟 GATE Program Coach: For the past two years, I've had the honor of coaching three middle school ELA teachers in the GATE program, a vital component of the Greenville County School district. This experience has been particularly rewarding as I collaborate and contribute to their professional growth.

🎨 Artistic Pursuits: Beyond the classroom, I find solace in the world of art. Whether it's knitting, drawing, or molding clay in a pottery studio in Simpsonville, I believe in the transformative power of creativity.

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™€οΈ Triathlon Enthusiast: Balancing the intellectual with the physical, I'm also an avid triathlon enthusiast. The challenges of running, swimming, and biking are pursuits that keep me energized and focused.

🌎 Travel Lover: My husband Stephen, who is from the UK, and I continue to explore the world, drawing inspiration from our travels. England and Scotland hold a special place in our hearts. Originally from Michigan, we travel "home" often to see family, making sure to visit my undergrad alma mater, Michigan State University, and my graduate alma mater, the University of Michigan.

πŸ’» Tech Enthusiast: Embracing the wonders of technology, I'm committed to integrating it into the learning experience, ensuring a dynamic and engaging classroom environment.

πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Family First: Above all, my most cherished role is being a mom to my daughter Ellie. As she finishes up 5th grade this year, I'm excited to extend my passion for teaching to the students of Riverside Middle School.

I look forward to a fantastic journey of learning and growth at Riverside Middle School. Together with parents and colleagues, let's make this academic year a memorable and successful one!
