We have three main classroom rules:
-Take care of yourself
-Take care of others
-Take care of your school
Consequences:
First time-Verbal warning
Second time-Immediate time out (5 min)-this includes reflecting on our actions through talking it out or writing about it; owe me time at recess to talk; OR owe time at lunch (silent lunch)
Third time-Lose privilege and note home
Secret Student
The "Secret Student" is someone I pick and secretly watch for a period of time. If this student is being respectful, responsible, safe, kind, and honest, they will get to use a special supply for the day (twistables crayon, colored mechanical pencil, erasable marker, etc.)
Pom Comp
The "Pom Comp" is a whole class competition. Each table gets a pom pom everytime they are caught doing something good. At the end of the week, I will count up the pom poms and the group with the most will get a special prize.
Mr. Potato Head
Mr. Potato Head is working towards a whole class reward. Once Mr. Potato Head is completed, I will pick a special prize out of the jar for the whole class to participate in (extra recess, make a science experiment, pajama day, bring a stuffy, etc.)
