SPN II SYLLABUS/PACING GUIDE


 Preliminary Unit     

Greeting, salutations, introductions, polite expressions, basic questions, numbers, vocabulary to describe, days, months, dates, verb review.


Unit I.  

Articles, plurals, Interrogatives, , adjective agreement, negatives, descriptions-personalities, characteristics of  family and places,  descriptions of feelings, emotions, actvities/interests/ verbs like Gustar,  regular verb review


Unit I. II    Sentence order, question formation, vocabulary to show possession, irregular verb review


Unit II    daily routine/ Reflexive verbs , describe choices and obligations, teen health issues, describing time frames, simple past  tense verbs

II.I  simple structures to give advice, given opinion, direct and indirect object pronouns


Unit III    Body parts, ailments, remed.ies, health system, health activities, unhealthy activities

 III.I  Expressions of alert, expressions of pain, high frequency past tense,

Vocabulary to express chronology, preterit tense regular and irregular verbs, cultural events.

Unit IV    

Stages of life, adverbal phrases, activities-childhood-adult, irregular stem-changing past tense, imperfect tense , past vs imperfect,  Tener, physical feelings, expression for  (ago) 


Unit V    

Vocabulary related to directiones, opiniones, lugares, el transporte,  Giving ans understanding directions, asking for and giving information, planning activities, using sequencing words

  

Unit  VI 

Vocabulary for professions, vocabulary for personal finance, questions to obtain details, vocabulary for personality traits, future tense , saber, Structures to expresss needs, wants, skills, poder

Assessment and Grading System:  In this class, we will incorporate a lot of pair and small group work, both written and spoken.  Students will be assessed daily on participation, effort and mastery of the goal (written or spoken).  Grades will be assigned according to the county-wide scale, using the following percentages:
