All About Mrs. Tomes & Ms. Stevens

I am so excited to be a part of the Blythe Academy Family! This is my eleventh year at Blythe Academy.  Previously, I taught 4th and 5th grades at Blythe Academy and Sara Collins Elementary School. I am starting my 24th year of teaching. I have taught everything from Preschool to 8th grade. I truly enjoy teaching and inspiring children to strive to achieve more than they think they can!

My family and I moved to South Carolina 22 years ago from Illinois. I love being in the south and raising my family in South Carolina! My daughter, Lauren is married and lives in Lyman.  She is  a 6th Grade Language Arts Teacher in Spartanburg 7.  Her husband, Daniel, works at Limestone College in Gaffney as Director of Community Values.   Together they have blessed me with my first grandchild, Eleanor Nola.  She will have her 2nd birthday on April 21!

 My son, Lukas, is a senior at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).  He will graduate in May with his Business Degree.  My husband, Tommy, and I just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary!  He works at BMW Manufacturing. We  also have 2 French Bulldogs.  Our sweet girl Frenchie is named Bella and will be 8 years old on December 20th.  She is such a funny little bully!  Our silly boy Frenchie is named Boris and will be 5 on October 20th.  He brings lots of laughter to our family with his loud snores and funny personality.

 Some of my hobbies are singing, playing piano, gardening, landscaping, and spending time with my family as much as possible!
