Introduction

I'm so pleased to be at J.L. Mann High School for my 15th year of teaching! I was born and raised in Maine, where there are more French speakers than any other state in the U.S.. While beginning my French studies in the 3rd grade, I also became a competitive ice dancer. After years of 40+ hours a week on the ice though, the sunny South was calling! Both International Studies and French were a great fit for me, at the University of South Carolina. During college, I completed an internship with the Maine Department of Economic Development and Tourism, which gave me the opportunity to help develop the Kennebec-Chaudière International Heritage Corridor and tutor Quebecois in English. I also spent a summer abroad, living with a family and going to school in Tours, France, which is located in the Loire Valley.

Since graduating college, I have worked in public relations and new home sales, as well as completed my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, with a specialization in English as a Second Language. My husband, Ryan, and I have a son named Collin, who is now a Senior. The three of us enjoy traveling around the world, cooking, football, Collin's sports, and our two goldendoodles.
