About Me

I am the special education instructor for Golden Strip Career Center and the Satellite Diploma Program. I have been a special education instructor for over forty years. I received my Bachelors of Education from East Carolina University and have an additional thirty hours of graduate work.

I have been employed by Greenville County Schools for thirty-eight years. The first twenty-two years I served as a special education instructor and department head at Mauldin High, then transferred to Golden Strip Career Center as the special education instructor for the Occupational Diploma Program.

I am married, and have two children, and three grandchildren.

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, gardening and traveling.

My philosophy is that every child can learn. I also believe it takes a community to educate a child. Teachers and parents must work together to help students overcome their obstacles and fears. We must teach responsibility and build self-worth. Once you boost a child’s self-worth, he/she will want to learn, and therefore will learn.
