Employability Education Lesson

The Employability Education course is designed for students to explore interests, research careers, create resumes, practice interview skills, and conduct informational interviews and job shadows. This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental attitudes, behaviors, and habits needed to obtain and maintain employment and make career advancements. Students will participate in school-based learning activities including work ethic development, job-seeking skills, decision-making skills, and self-management. Students will begin a career portfolio as part of the requirements for the South Carolina High School Credential. Formal career planning and development of knowledge regarding transition planning begins in this course and continues throughout the strand of the employability education courses.


On Monday, March 7, 2022 we delivered Meals on Wheels for the first time in two years!


On Friday, May 6, 2022 the students on my caseload toured Vocational Rehabilitation or the Work Training Center for North American Rescue where two of our students are currently training.

On Friday, September 10, we enjoyed delicious Apple Dumplings. Below is the recipe so your student can show you how to make them.

SC Able will be coming every Thursday during 2nd period to do lessons with our class. Today (11/4/21) was our first lesson on Knowing Ourselves-Strengths and Weaknesses.


On Friday, November 19, our 1st and 2nd period students participated in Passport for Success (transition from school to college and career) via Google Meets.

On November 23, 2021 our students wrote what they are thankful and grateful for on our "Thankful Pumpkin"

On February 10, 2022 Mr. Matthew Nelson from SC Able came for our regular Thursday lesson. Today he worked with us on Time Management.
