About Me

I graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History in 2000, and went back to school at USCS for my certificate to teach. I received my Master's in Education from Southern Wesleyan University in 2010. In 2016, I received my AP Human Geography Endorsement from Clemson University. I have taught 20 years at Hughes Academy which included one year with the virtual program. I am so excited to be starting my 21st year with your child!

I do enjoy traveling and had the greatest experience of a life time when I was accepted to go to China and Japan back in the summer of 2005 through the SCCTA program offered at Furman University.  I spent two weeks in China and one week in Japan paid for by the Freedman Foundation.  Another colleague and I ended our Asian trip with a week in Hawaii before coming back home.

During the summer of 2007, my husband  and I spent our delayed honeymoon in Europe traveling throughout Ireland and England. In 2009, we traveled to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and a small slither of France. I love sharing these different places and cultures to my classes and look forward to showing and telling you about them and how it relates to global studies!

My husband and I have stay very busy with our three kids who are 10, (almost) 8, and 5 years old that keeps us on our toes. We enjoy traveling, cooking, attending theatrical performances, and reading together!  My next goal is try to do camping with all of us!

We also have a spoiled rotten dog we rescued named Bella.   We also have two spoiled kitties we adopted Mocha, and Litten. The picture of the two kitties are my special angels that crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  Neann, the one on the right was actually a kitten found here at Hughes.  My students helped to name her!
