& the Constitution

Students will be using Google Classroom over the course of the year to complete assignments and receive important information. Students should see Coach Sands for the Classroom code.

Course Description: United States History is a yearlong class and you are required to pass in order to graduate from Mauldin High. The course will begin with a brief chronological overview of the Colonial Era, the American Revolution, the Constitution, the rise of nationalism and sectionalism, westward expansion, the Civil War and Reconstruction. During the second nine weeks we will cover topics including the Industrial and Gilded Age, Immigration and Urbanization, the Populist and Labor Movement, along with Imperialism and Progressivism leading into WWI. The second semester will focus more on the decades and include the Great Depression, New Deal, WWII, Cold War, JFK and LBJ, Civil Rights and Women’s Rights, Korea and Vietnam, and moving right into the 21st Century.
