About Señora Carpio

I am very excited to begin a new experience as a teacher in the Virtual Academy; I will be teaching Spanish 1 and Spanish 2. I have worked in the education field for about 15 years, first as an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) assistant, then as an Attendance Clerk, then as a Parent Involvement Coordinator, at the same time as an interpreter, and now in my third year as a Spanish teacher.

I am originally from Colombia, South America. I was born in Manizales and grew up in Medellin (The City of the Eternal Spring); therefore, Spanish is my first language. I have lived in the United States for 25 years, first in Miami and for the last 16 years in Greenville. I have learned about the culture of different Hispanic countries, especially the Mexican culture since my husband is from Mexico.
