Grading Policy

Our major and minor grade breakdown is 60% major grades and 40% minor grades.

The district requires that we identify each graded assessment (major or minor) as one of the following types:

Interpersonal Activities

(speaking)

Students exchange information, concepts, and ideas with a variety of speakers or readers on a variety of topics in a culturally appropriate context.


Interpretive Activities

(includes listening and reading)

Students interpret information, concepts, and ideas from a variety of culturally authentic sources on a variety of topics.


Presentational Activities

(includes speaking and writing)*

Students present information, concepts, and ideas to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics in a culturally appropriate context.

*These speaking and writing activities differ from the interpersonal and interpretive assignments because students are provided time to prepare (and edit) drafts before they are assessed
