AP Euro syllabus

Requirements:

Daily Assignments – Expect to have homework on a daily basis. You will be required to read and write extensively in this course.

Assessments– Tests are designed to assess student understanding of class notes, textbook and primary source reading. Questions include both multiple choice and essay responses modelled according to CollegeBoard expectations.

Grading:

Grading will follow Greenville County Schools and Eastside High School policies including this specific information about late work and make-up work.

NO INDIVIDUAL EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE GIVEN.

Major Assessments: Tests and Projects = 60%

Minor Assessments: Homework, Class Assignments, Quizzes, etc. = 40%

AP European History is divided into four major periods from the Renaissance to the present:

· PERIOD 1: 1450 - 1648

· PERIOD 2: 1648 - 1815

· PERIOD 3: 1815 - 1914

· PERIOD 4: 1914 to present

with emphasis on these historical themes:

· Interaction of Europe & the World

· Identity-National & European

· States & other Institutions of Power

· Social Organization & Development

· Economic & Commercial Developments

· Cultural & Intellectual Developments

· Technological & Scientific Innovation
